Overview
The intern will work closely with the OVP team, including the executive administrative assistant, senior program associate, and program assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Background research for external meetings and VP remarks.
- Assistance with event planning for peace programs team-building and subject matter events.
- Representing OVP in meetings and providing notes.
- Performing administrative tasks such as coordinating documents, creating meeting materials, creating program information sheets, and maintaining the OVP SharePoint site.
- Providing research and writing support for the implementation of peace programs’ strategic priorities (i.e., climate, gender and inclusion, and locally led development).

Overview
Information has the power to transform lives. The fundamental right of access to information is critical for both governments and the people they serve, particularly women. It provides for a more meaningful voice, enabling women to participate in public life, access public services, and make better decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities.
顶级国产视频’s Inform Women, Transform Lives Campaign partners with 35 cities, as we raise awareness about women’s right to information and supports cities to reach more women with information about beneficial municipal services. Examples of city services being promoted are safe spaces and hotlines for women facing sexual and gender-based violence, programs to support women’s financial empowerment and the development of small businesses, waste management, and respite centers for women caregivers.
Interns assist with substantive research projects on topics related to advancing women’s rights globally, track political developments and news, design and edit creative materials, attend online roundtables and trainings, and support efforts to capture the program’s reach, such as through social media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research projects as needed by project staff
- Draft memos, concept notes, proposals, etc.
- Track news, social media, and current events in partner cities; provide analysis and updates
- Create and edit newsletters and creative materials
- As possible, translate documents (most often Spanish, French, Portuguese)
Interns who excel in this role have strong writing, research, and analytical abilities. Qualities such as creativity, organization, and being detail-oriented are strongly encouraged and appreciated. Backgrounds in creative communications and developing promotional materials using design applications (e.g., Canva) are also beneficial.

- Majors: All, with an emphasis for those with a background in political science, international affairs, human rights, communications, creative writing, or other related areas.
- Experience and interest working on women’s rights.
- Foreign language skills (particularly French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic).
- Experience in public outreach or creative communications.
- Strong writing, editing, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Social media and analytics experience (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
- Computer and graphic design skills (e.g., experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva).
- Backgrounds in creative communications and developing promotional materials using design applications a plus.

Overview
顶级国产视频’s Latin America and Caribbean Focus works to enhance democracy and accountability in the region. Our projects aim to strengthen regional capacities in democracy, conflict prevention and transformation, and governance.
We engage in activities to promote democracy and prevent democratic crises through the Friends of the Inter-American Democratic Charter and the Organization of American States and 顶级国产视频 project. LAC monitors regional developments to be able to identify potential projects and/or election missions.
The Latin America and Caribbean Focus intern will be an active member of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
RESEARCH AND REPORT (80%):
- Conduct research, track events, and contribute to briefing books and project materials as assigned.
- Utilize diverse sources, including news outlets, social media, academic journals, etc., to gather information.
- Prepare short briefs on events and issues or leader profiles.
DATABASE MANAGEMENT (5%):
- Enter and retrieve data using various computer systems, including SharePoint, to maintain accurate, up-to-date information in project files.
- Document procedures for accessing shared computer files to ensure continuity in data management.
INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT (5%):
- Take notes and produce rapporteurship reports for internal program meetings and external conferences.
- Assist in facilitating effective communication within the program and across 顶级国产视频.
COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE (5%):
- Aid in translating documents from Spanish to English and vice versa to facilitate communication between stakeholders.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES (5%):
- Perform other related tasks as required to support the goals and activities of the Latin America and Caribbean Focus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA: 3.2
- Majors: Political science, development studies, international affairs, Latin America and the Caribbean studies, or any other relevant majors.
- Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Course requirement: At least two semesters of Spanish-language coursework (waived for native speakers).
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a team.
